History
The Haas FinTech Club was founded in 2016 and currently supports more than 340 members. It is one of the fastest-growing clubs in Berkeley-Haas history with 250+ event attendees, attracting students from across UC Berkeley. The club aims to prepare students for careers in FinTech through education, treks, and other programs.
Co-Presidents
Ali Ware
Ali Ware is a Haas Entrepreneurial Finance (Fintech) Fellow and SkyDeck Venture Fellow. Prior to Haas, Ali was an investment banker at J.P. Morgan, where she helped various clients across a wide spectrum of industries and geographies raise capital in the form of debt to expand their businesses or invest in new projects.
While at J.P. Morgan, Ali was co-chair of J.P. Morgan Junior Women in banking which furthered her interest in helping women succeed in finance. Ali is particularly interested in closing the wealth gap through financial inclusion and education.
In her spare time, Ali loves to be outdoors biking, hiking, skiing and running. She was a co-founder of William Smith at Work and studied Economics and International Relations at Hobart and William Smith Colleges.
Manoj Bandreddi
Manoj Bandreddi is a crypto enthusiast and business consultant with Blockchain at Berkeley. Prior to Haas, Manoj was a finance manager at DaVita Kidney Care, where he leveraged finance and technology to streamline the process of building new dialysis clinics across the US. Prior to that, he began his career in investment banking with Goldman Sachs, advising technology clients on high yield debt transactions.
Outside of work, Manoj advised underrepresented entrepreneurs in the Denver area through the Rocky Mountain Microfinance Institute. He is passionate about increasing monetary access and growth for traditionally unbanked groups.
During his free time, Manoj enjoys playing tennis, snowboarding, and trying new restaurants. He was a co-founder of Microfinance Brigades and studied Finance while at the University of Denver.
Wesley Ng
At Haas, Wesley is a founding member of a crypto-fiat payment processor and co-founded an Asian wellness drink company.
Prior to Haas, Wesley was an management consultant at McKinsey & Company, where he helped various clients across a wide spectrum of industries and geographies in strategy and implementation.
While at McKinsey & Company, Wesley was a founding member of Asians at McKinsey Canada. Wesley is particularly interested in fintech for it’s possibilities in decreasing international financial barriers.
During his free time, Wesley enjoys skiing, surfing, scuba diving, and golfing. He was a co-founder of Agora Mentorship Program and studied International Economics at the University of British Columiba.
